Sanjay Gupta

Sanjay joined BESTrustees in January 2025 following a successful 35-year career working as a pension scheme actuary. 

Before becoming a professional trustee, Sanjay spent 25 years as a consulting actuary at WTW and 10 years at Aon (legacy Bacon & Woodrow). Sanjay is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

Sanjay brings a deep understanding and breadth of experience in both DB and DC pensions developed over the last 35 years advising both trustees and sponsors on all aspects of pension schemes. With his broad background, advising both Trustees and sponsors, he is able to find pragmatic solutions for pension schemes. His style is collaborative and collegiate and he is an effective communicator at all levels – whether at senior board, Trustee or member level.

Away from pensions, Sanjay’s interests are travel, cycling, running and golf. He is also a Freeman of the City of London and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Actuaries, which allows Sanjay to get involved in charitable activities – particularly related to mathematical education.
