Phil Tranter

Phil joined BESTrustees in 2009 and boasts has over 40 years’ experience in the pensions industry.

He chairs, or is a co-trustee for, a number of Trustee Boards, DB and DC, as one of our Trustee Executives.

Phil was previously an actuary and worldwide partner at global actuaries and consultants Mercer where he gained extensive experience of working with trustee boards and scheme sponsors.

Phil has wide ranging experience of all trustee issues including investment strategy and implementation, insurance company buy-ins/buy-outs, leading trustee boards through complex corporate transactions, negotiating and agreeing funding targets with scheme sponsors, rectification of legal documents through the Court, reviews and appointments of advisers and providing leadership and direction to his trustee boards.

Phil is an accredited professional trustee with the APPT.
