Keith Burgess has over 30 years’ experience as a financially-aware General Counsel and Company Secretary to listed plc boards, having originally qualified as a barrister.
He is fully up to date with the legal and regulatory developments for both DB and DC schemes and has recent experience of active engagement with the Pensions Regulator.
As a former Company Secretary, Keith has an extensive background in senior remuneration and human resource practice, together with a thorough understanding of corporate pension schemes from the perspective of both scheme members and sponsoring employers. As a General Counsel with financial training who has operated across an unusually wide variety of industries, he offers an ability to distil complex issues quickly, understand a wide range of regulatory issues, and offer innovative practical solutions.
Keith joined BESTrustees in 2024 and his trustee experience includes a £300m hybrid scheme (DB & DC) corporate pension trustee and three years as a non-executive Trustee of a Group DB scheme. He also has over 30 years’ experience as a pension scheme secretary.
Keith is based in Hampshire and away from pensions, is currently studying part-time for a BSc in Natural Sciences (Astronomy and Planetary Science) through the Open University.
