Iain Urquhart has worked for BESTrustees since 2002 and was until recently Group Pensions Director of Trinity Mirror plc, where he was a Director of the three principal trustee companies in the Group including a number of small schemes which are in the process of being wound up.

Iain’s expertise in occupational pension schemes spans 30 years and includes British Shipbuilders, J. Bibby & Son and BBA Group. Following a short time in consultancy he joined Mirror Group (now part of Trinity Mirror plc) in 1994.

Iain has been involved with the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (formerly the National Association of Pension Funds) both locally and nationally, having sat on the Committee of the City and Eastern Group for many years including periods as Chairman and Treasurer. At a national level he has also sat on the Benefits Council.

Iain is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Member of the Institute of Management. He has been appointed to the Actuarial Stakeholders Group of the Financial Reporting Council.
