Clive Gilchrist

Clive Gilchrist has over 40 years’ experience of the pensions and investment industries and was, until 2010, Managing Director of BESTrustees since its inception in 1992.

His early career was in stock-broking and investment management including ten years as Investment Manager/Director at the Post Office S.S.F./PosTel (now Hermes).

He was a Member of the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (formerly the National Association of Pension Funds) Council and Investment Committee for many years including two years as Investment Chairman.

He has also chaired the Pension Committee of The Association of Corporate Trustees.
Clive has served on a number of City and industry bodies including the Takeover Panel, the Accounting Standards Board Financial Services Committee and the DTI Deregulation Task Force. He has been a non-executive director of a number of public companies and has also sat on the advisory board of a property unit trust and on the boards of a number of European bond funds.

Clive is a fully accredited professional trustee with the APPT and speaks regularly at pension/investment conferences. Away from Pensions, when he is not travelling or taking photographs Clive enjoys gardening and family life with his wife and dogs.
