Andrew Campbell

Andrew joined BESTrustees in 2021 and is a highly experienced pensions professional with a strong funding and governance focus.

He has over 30 years of DB and DC experience serving as a professional trustee, scheme actuary, corporate pensions adviser and for a short period as a pension manager.

Andrew has been a professional trustee since 2017 and currently chairs two DB schemes, is a co-trustee on three other DB schemes and is one of BESTrustees’ representatives for a sole trusteeship covering 6 DB schemes. Prior to becoming a professional trustee, Andrew spent 16 years as an actuarial consultant with Willis Towers Watson.

As a trustee, Andrew has recently been particularly focussed on risk transfer work. He has completed 5 buy-ins over the last 18 months and is currently involved in a further 3. He has also been responsible for a range of activities including tendering for fiduciary investment managers and establishing a process to provide members with independent financial advice at retirement.

Andrew is an accredited Member of the APPT and Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. Outside of pensions, Andrew’s interests are hiking, cooking and sport, particularly supporting Manchester City. He also volunteers at a local shelter for homeless people.
