BESTrustees’ committment to equality, diversity and inclusion
We are fully committed to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, which we demonstrate in a number of ways, some more observable than others. As a client-driven business, we understand the importance of reflecting the make-up of the clients and trustee boards we work with, so currently 35% of our professional trustees are female, including our Chair. We can also demonstrate diversity by ethnicity and sexuality.
In professional trusteeship, diversity of thought and experience are key, so trustees are deliberately recruited from a wide variety of backgrounds and areas of expertise, such as accountancy, actuarial, HR, investment, legal, and pensions consultancy. By sharing knowledge and expertise, we harness a wide variety of experiences and perspectives for the benefit of our clients, schemes and members.
Finally, our operating model is grounded in the principles of inclusion: we are 100% owned by an Employee Ownership Trust, so every single member of staff owns a stake in the business and shares a collective responsibility and incentive to get results for the business.
