BESTrustees has announced the recruitment of Danny Vassiliades as a professional trustee. Danny joined BESTrustees on 1 May, after a long career as an actuary and strategic adviser to the UK pensions industry.
Before joining BESTrustees, Danny spent 18 years as Partner at XPS (formerly Punter Southall) where he was a scheme actuary and corporate adviser, specialising in funding and investment advice, with an ability to navigate complex financial landscapes and provide strategic oversight. Danny brings a deep technical knowledge of funding strategies, investment principles, and risk management across both DB and DC schemes as well as excellent communication skills.

BESTrustees professional trustee client, the Metallus UK Pension Scheme, has completed a £40 million bulk purchase annuity (BPA) transaction with Royal London, the UK’s largest customer-owned life, pensions and investment provider. Christopher Wheeler appointed Co-Chair of the APPT
The Association of Professional Pension Trustees (APPT) today announced that Council members, Christopher Wheeler and Julia Yates, are taking the helm as Co-Chairs of the APPT, succeeding Rachel Croft (current Chair) and Vassos Vassou (current Vice Chair) who have both completed their terms in office as Council members.
