Harold Lewis (Associate)
Harold is a solicitor with 15 years experience advising as a pensions lawyer. Until his retirement in 2011 he had been a partner of Eversheds for more than 25 years and he remains a consultant to the firm. He was Head of Eversheds London Pensions Group for 6 years.
He has advised pension fund trustees and employers on a wide range of issues, such as scheme mergers, corporate transactions, new benefit arrangements, investments, funding negotiations (including contingent assets), employer debt, PPF entry and winding up. His pension cases include two House of Lords appeals: National Grid, about employers use of surplus, and Preston v Wolverhampton NHS Trust, the part-timer sex discrimination test case referred to the European Court of Justice.
Harold has considerable experience of former public sector schemes, including the electricity and gas schemes and the British Airways schemes.
